Turkish Maarif Foundation on the XIII. International Congress of Educational Research agenda


Turkish Maarif Foundation’s activities were presented during the Thirteenth International Congress of Educational Research, held in cooperation with Hatay Mustafa Kemal University and gathering worldwide academician to debate on "Educational Research in Times of Glocal Crisis: Migration, Diversity and Integration". 

Turkish Maarif Foundation Board of Trustees Member Prof. Dr. Cihad Demirli explained the Foundation’s international activities and the educational methods under the theme “Turkish Maarif Foundation in the Context of Diversity and Integration in Education” at the Conference Hall of the university, held under the co-chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Turan and Assoc. Prof. Hakan Dedeoğlu, and with the support of the Ministry of National Education, the European Educational Research Association, the World Educational Research Association, the International Association of Educators and the International Association for Qualitative Research. 

Reminding that Turkish Maarif Foundation was established in 2016 with a special law enacted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey as a non-profit organization, providing formal and non-formal education based on the common values of the Humanity, Prof. Dr. Cihad Demirli explained that they aimed to be Turkey’s window on the World and bring together Turkish culture and heritage with worldwide civilizations. Referring to the activities of Maarif Schools during the pandemic, Prof. Dr. Demirli continued as follows: “We continued to provide online education to 37,000 students in 36 countries when schools were closed due to the pandemic. We offered 500 virtual classrooms, 45,036 recorded courses and 7,491 downloaded courses." 

The congress continued with the speeches of other invited speakers.
